Andrea was in Portland this past weekend and wanted to get her younger sister Jill on the blog! But since I was not going to be able to go with her we had to get creative and improvise how I would style Jill. So I headed over to Pinterest (what did we do before this AMAZING site?) and looked for style inspiration that fit Jill’s style and closet. I then texted over a handful of images to Andrea with small explanations on what I was thinking, or what I would have changed. Not knowing what she had in her closet was slightly challenging, but I was able to pull images that were inspired by the clothes she wears and the stores she shops at. Andrea was then able to dive in and pick an outfit that most replicated the look. Since Jill is a very relaxed and easygoing her style greatly displays that, but in a tailored refined way. I dreamed of getting her into an embellished tank, paired with a contrasting jacket or cardigan. Pair it with jeans and some sassy nude shoes and you’re set! Jill looked great and Andrea styled her exactly how I envisioned!
Do you know how to use Pinterest for fashion inspiration? This site is awesome and is the best way to maximize your closet. I often will just search for an item (i.e.- army jacket or pencil skirt) to see a variety of ways to style, accessorize and wear that piece. It helps to push you out of the box and maybe show you something that you didn’t think about. Sometimes you can even pull from your own closet to create a look or pair items you wouldn’t think about putting together. Like I said above this site is amazing and I can’t remember what I did with my free time before Pinterest!
