Today we are featuring our good friend Jessica. She has a very classic, preppy style, with some vintage pieces thrown in. On this sunny fall day we decided to style her in some layers, and you can’t ever go wrong with chambray and a chunky sweater! Pair with some black skinnies and booties and you’re set. And her vintage silver statement neck, which was a gift from her mother in law (from her travels in Iran in the 1970s) was pure perfection with the outfit. This outfit can easily transition from work to drinks and it’s comfortable. Here in the Pacific Northwest with our constant changes in weather (sometimes within the hour) layers are essential!
Jessica is someone who does the mix of on-trend styles with vintage pieces well. She knows how to take unique, vintage pieces and then pair them with a Madewell top or Nordstrom dress to update the look. I definitely envy her for that, because vintage shopping is not my strong suit.
Where is your favorite place to score vintage finds? Here are a few of my favorite places where I actually have found some fun pieces! Fremont Vintage Mall in Fremont, Red Light in Seattle’s U-District and Meg & Mo (love the name-duh!) in Tacoma’s Proctor neighborhood.
STYLE SPOTLIGHT ON…
Career: Finance Operations Manager at a local lifestyle technology innovation center.
Favorite place to shop: A shop called Horseshoe located in Ballard.
Style inspiration: At the moment, the 60s. Marilyn Monroe in a high neckline has always made me smile.
Summarize your style: A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll. No, really, my style is pretty eclectic. I love to dress specific to every situation, occasion, venue. Sometimes I wonder if I was a costumer in a past life.
